Tiny quantities of Schonfels Kabinett first made an appearance last year, and there is not much more from 2022. It is a luminous, opulent wine, with golden-yellow fruit nudging over-ripeness, but held in check by bright lemony acidity and a smoky slaty finish. The tension is extraordinary.
