Description
Fruit from the Orbel and Ölberg make up this 1G. The vineyards are in a side valley, not directly facing the Rhine, so inherently cooler, and they benefit from a fresh breeze at night. It is a dense, crystalline wine, the rocky red soils unsurprisingly giving stony redcurrant fruit, as well as creamy salty mineral flavours, and a long bright salty finish of great elegance and power.
