We are kicking off a spring full of prizes!
Our first prize draw is for a magnum of German Pinot Noir, but not just any Pinot Noir: 2016 Pinot Noir*** from Weingut Holger Koch.
Holger Koch is a winemaker at the top of his game, making some of the best Pinots in Germany. He names his wines by stars. His entry level wine (an excellent QPR) is called ‘Herrenstück’, then his next level up is Pinot Noir*, then Pinot Noir**, and finally, at the top of the range, the Pinot Noir***. The three star comes from the estate’s best site, the Halbuck, a terraced vineyard with poor loess soils on volcanic rock: grapes ripen more slowly here than in other vineyards on the estate. Cool, crushed raspberry fruit on the nose is joined on the palate by fresh cherry and fine clean juicy minerality; the finish is long, intense and meltingly smooth. Retail Value £90 for 1 magnum
Buy 6 bottles of any German wine in our portfolio for a chance to win a magnum of Holger Koch’s top Pinot Noir. You’ll receive one entry for every 6 bottles purchased. To get you started, we’ve put together a guide to some of our favourite German Pinot Noirs in the portfolio.
We will draw the winner on Friday 5th March.
