The last 1er cru of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyard has white marl soils. The grapes are sourced from the top of the hill, and are always ripe, but never too much so, as the terroir lends firmness. This year it is densely textured and perfumed and rounded, with precision, energy and length.

A new wine, from a vineyard just below Corton-Bressandes. Dark, bramble fruit with distinct pepper, chocolate and gamy elements. Rounded and deep, driven to a long finish by a vibrant minerality.
2013 BEAUNE 1er cru (CAMI29213A)
Beaune was hard hit by hail in 2013, particularly Cras, which managed a yield of only 3.5 hl/ha. It was thus blended with Avaux to make a very rich, concentrated wine with dark fruit, good tannin levels and superb length. It will last very well, and needs ten years in the cellar before approaching.
2016 VOSNE-ROMANEE (CAMI30216A)
Les Chalandins is neatly situated below Echézeaux, close to the wall of Clos Vougeot. 50% whole-bunch fermentation gives an intense, violet-scented, charming wine that is complex, transparent and round, with fine tannins and a long, powerful finish. One of the most seductive village wines tasted this year.
