Description
100-year-old vines with very small berries in a steep terraced vineyard gave impossibly low yields of 12-15 hl/ha. It is a complete contrast to the Sonnenlay Kabinett: ripe, rich and rounded, distinctly sweeter but with more perceptible acidity to balance it. There is ripe apple and pear fruit, white peach, a hint of tropical yellow, and then a hit of cool fresh green fruit, dark-ening slightly as the slate kicks in, and finishing on a fine smooth salty note. A very complex and satisfying Kabinett.
