A generous sprinkling of top 1er crus – Chaumes, Fuées and Combottes – are made in such small quantities that they are more easily blended than bottled separately. This is a rounded, almost lush wine with rich red fruit, but it is clearly defined and delicate despite its intensity. The tannins are powerful, and ripeness and finesse add lift and energy to the long, smooth finish.
