Description
Steinacker translates as “stony field”, and It’s certainly that. The limestone soils are infused with iron oxide, which lends a spicy warmth to the cool green and citrus fruit. It is smooth and rich, and there is delicate fine minerality on the finish. So named because of the prices it once fetched, this vineyard is made up of chalky loam on a limestone base, and gives a lean, citrusy wine with a silky minerality and a long fresh salty finish. Very exciting!
