The Lambertskirch vineyard, downriver from the Schonfels, was planted to fruit trees when Florian Lauer purchased it in 2010. He believes it to be a great site, and it certainly has the necessary: a south-facing steep slope of very rocky grey slate. The wine bears this out: it has fresh cool green notes, and a zingy pithy quality, as well as great length.
