Jaromir and Alžbeta Gala founded the estate in 2007. Close to the historic village
of Mikulov, it lies in the middle of a UNESCO nature reserve, an idyllic setting. Jaromir was born into a winemaking family and worked in the business for fifteen years before taking the plunge with his own wine. The couple started with
purchased grapes, acquired their first vineyards in 2013, and built a handsome, modern, and entirely carbon-neutral winery just below their largest parcel of vines. They now farm ten hectares. Some of their vines are fifty years old, but they have embarked on an ambitious replanting program with the best
selections and clones. The estate is run entirely on organic and self-sufficient lines, with manure coming from their own horses. Production is mainly white and sparkling, with exceptionally aromatic Chardonnay and Welschriesling.
