2015 Zweigelt Untere Bunte Mergel (BEUR76215A)
2015 Pinot Noir* [14 16] (KOCH44215A)
Rich and spicy, with cherry and raspberry fruit, this has good energy, an appealing density and a smooth long finish. Drink 2018 – 2028
Saar Riesling Cremant Brut [09 14] (LAUE90212A)
Tastes as a sparkling Riesling should: fresh and vibrant with good weight and balance. The mousse is fine and gentle, and there is good length and power.
2013 Sparkling Brut (SHEL10213A)
2016 Weissburgunder (BERN14216A)
2017 Chardonnay (BERN18217A)
2015 Kieselsandstein Riesling Stetten (BEUR24215A)
2017 Riesling [04 18] (DENG12217A)
A first hit of ripe yellow fruit is followed by greener flavours courtesy of some whole-bunch pressing; the acidity is brisk and integrated and there is a lovely fresh finish. A textbook example of Pfalz Riesling.
2016 Am Heiligen Berg [18 17] (DENG34216A)
From heavier soils with more clay in the limestone-gravel mix. This is opulent, smooth and powerful, but a considerable whack of acidity keeps it beautifully balanced. The finish is elegant and long, with a hint of mineral depth, which will become more apparent with age. Drink 2017 - 2024
2015 Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr GG [08 16] (HAAG02215A)
An extraordinary wine that combines power with delicacy and fluidity with intensity. There is ample peachy fruit, a soft creamy minerality, and a smooth long finish.
2015 Piesporter Riesling [12 16] (HARJ20215A)
From young vines in Goldtröpchen. Powerful and rich, this is an expressive wine with rounded pear fruit, a healthy dose of citrus in the form of grapefruit pith and lemon, and a vibrant, fine ripe finish. Drink 2017 - 2025
2012 Kanzem Hörecker Grosse Lage [12 13] (HOVE70212A)
2017 Hütte GG [15 18] (HOVE76217A)
There is a very appealing lean raciness to the juicy ripe floral and peach fruit, the minerality is fine, and the finish is long and pure.
2016 Appenheimer Riesling Kalkstein [09 17] (KNEW24216A)
2016 Hundertgulden [16 17] (KNEW46216A)
Named Hundertgulden - a hundred guilders - because in medieval times its wine was so valuable. Pure limestone and chalky loam soils give an intense, lean lemony wine with juicy grapefruit and very fine salty mineral flavours that linger on the finish.
2016 Weissburgunder Scheibenhardt [09 17] (KOCH22216A)
2017 Grauburgunder Eichbuck [05 18] (KOCH30217A)
2016 Qvinterra Riesling [05 17] (KUHL14216A)
2017 Qvinterra Scheurebe [08 18] (KUHL16217A)
A lovely example of Scheurebe: typical pithy grapefruit and peach flavours pair with bright pure lemon acidity and a long dry finish.
2016 Nackenheim Riesling [23 17] (KUHL24216A)
Breathtakingly fresh ripe citrus and orchard fruit are driven by slatey mineral flavours to a long finish.
