The Growers > Domaine Hudelot-BailletDominique Le Guen was an air force technician when his father-in-law announced his retirement and asked him if he would like to make wine. He took the plunge and joined the almost defunct eight-hectare domaine in 1998, making his first wines on his own in 2002. A supremely skilled craftsmen, his production has become ever finer since.
In 2017 the vines compensated for their tiny yields in 2016 by the promise of a large crop, so measures – such as green harvesting – were taken to keep yields down. Otherwise it was a relatively easy vintage, giving wines that maintain good a good balance between freshness and ripeness.
