The Growers > Domaine Claude DugatClaude Dugat has now handed over the domaine to his three children, but there has been no change from his meticulous methods. They use the same high proportion of new oak as ever, but over the years its influence has been shrinking. Perhaps this is due to the progressively higher quality of his fruit; at any rate, these are first-class wines. Yields are normal, though there was little juice in the grapes: the villages sites were particularly affected, as the vines are planted on gravelly soils, which retain less water than the usual limestone/mix.
After a brief flirtation with biodynamic practice in 2016, when they lost most of their crop and all of their nerve, they have reverted to more conventional methods.
