White

2015 Jaspis Gutedel 104 Alte Reben (ZIER26215A)
A Chasselas at this price? Pull the other one. But when you try it, you see. This is a supremely fine wine in anyone's book, up there with the best Burgundies. So that makes it good value, right? Named after the number of vines per hectare (104 ¹ or 10,000) in the oldest part of the Steingrüble vineyard, it is a wine of extraordinary complexity and intensity. Overnight skin contact after picking gives freshness, structure and a hint of bruised apple, backed by bright citrus fruit, a dash of cream and a minerality that grows more persistent as it glides to an infinitely long, smooth finish.
