2014 RIESLING [01 15] (SHAE06214A)
Rounded, ripe orchard fruit ' mainly pear, with a note of pine honey and grapefruit, supported by a pleasing dash of mineral. The whole is very pure, and the finish fresh and long.
2017 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Kabinett [02 18] (SHAE12217C)
There is a core of beautifully floral, lemony fruit enveloped by delicate and smooth mineral packaging, complemented by a long, peachy citrus finish. As seductive as they come.
2016 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Kabinett [02 17] (SHAE12216A)
Delicate, ripe and floral, with very expressive mineral notes, this is playful and charming, but long and intense, too.
2013 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Kabinett [02 14] (SHAE12213A)
Pretty floral and stone fruit notes, delicious lemon acidity, well-balanced and with a smooth mineral flourish on the long finish.
2016 GRAACHER DOMPROBST Kabinett [03 17] (SHAE13216A)
With more mineral depth than the Himmelreich, this has gorgeously zingy fruit, lots of citrus acidity and a very long, energetic finish.
2014 GRAACHER DOMPROBST Kabinett [03 15] (SHAE13214A)
More depth and intensity here, but still the purity, charm and delicacy typical of the vintage. There is a finely woven texture of minerals, grapefruit, pear and apple and a delightful pointed citrus note that leads to a complex finish. A fantastic, moreish Kabinett.
2017 WEHLENER SONNENUHR Spätlese [17 18] (SHAE15217A)
A little richer than the wines from Graach, the floral fruit and juicy citrus flavours can be picked out clearly against a powerful and elegant mineral background.
2016 WEHLENER SONNENUHR Spätlese [17 17] (SHAE15216A)
From young vines in the newly replanted (tiny) parcel, now four years old. There is forward peach and some tropical fruit, typical floral notes and a hint of fresh herbs too. The minerality breaks through this market garden, and it finishes on a lingering juicy, salty note.
2016 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Spätlese [08 17] (SHAE18216A)
Elegant yellow fruit and a playful floral ripeness combines with a rich salty minerality to give elegance, purity and length
2014 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Spätlese [08 15] (SHAE18214A)
Some pure botrytis flavours add to the complexity, but do not diminish its purity. There is bags of energy, vibrant fruit and a clear salty mineral edge, but it manages an effortless gentleness and elegance, and there is no trace of weight. A long juicy finish promises a great future.
2013 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Spätlese [08 14] (SHAE18213A)
Elegant, pure and fine, showing yellow fruit, a soft, gentle botrytis that adds a note of decadence, and a very fine clean minerality. It is weightless and playful, harmonious and bursting with energy.
2012 GRAACHER HIMMELREICH Spätlese [08 13] (SHAE18212A)
A burst of bright floral and peach fruit with a dash of strawberry, kept on the straight and narrow by a fine minerality and juicy acidity. Very lovely: 'a stunning synthesis of the inherent elegance of the 2012 vintage and the glorious purity and minerality of the Himmelreich vineyard' (John Gilman's View from the Cellar #44)
2016 GRAACHER DOMPROBST Spätlese [10 17] (SHAE20216A)
Dark, creamy mineral tones dominate at present, but there is yellow fruit too, as well as green notes of quince, gooseberry and herbs. The finish is juicy, astonishingly elegant and long.
2012 GRAACHER DOMPROBST Spätlese [10 13] (SHAE20212A)
Full of vim. Golden yellow fruit with juicy ripe citrus notes crashing against a wall of steely minerality. Absolutely superb
2016 GRAACHER DOMPROBST Spätlese [05 17] (SHAE22216A)
A wine on the edge of Auslese: there is more power and sweetness than in the Spätlese #10 ; the texture is denser, the minerality more pronounced, and the finish lively and ripe.
2011 GRAACHER DOMPROBST Spätlese [05 12] (SHAE22211A)
More depth and weight than the #10, but still light on its feet. Big mass of racy acid and mineral power in mid-palate to balance the intense, slightly creamy yellow fruit.
