2017 Scharzhofberg Kabinett [11 18] (HOVE12217A)
The finest vineyard in the Saar for a reason: this juicy, lean and mineral-driven wine, packed with lemon, ripe pears and spice, is the epitome of cool elegance and finesse. Quite lovely.

2014 Scharzhofberg Kabinett [07 15] (HOVE12214A)
Lean and bright, with very racy citrus acidity, dashes of spice to complement the peach and grapefruit notes, and a lovely salty finish. Really all you need from a Kabinett. Absolutely delicious.
2012 Oberemmeler Hütte Spätlese [07 13] (HOVE20212A)
Brilliant and brisk, very light on its feet, with pure forward fruit balanced by vibrant minerality, and a long elegant finish.
2018 Scharzhofberg Spätlese (HOVE22218A)
Well this is pleasant, you think as you sniff the lemon and ripe stone fruit, and indeed, the first impression on the palate is of a vibrant, balanced fruity wine?then a second later you are knocked back by intense salty, stony flavours and you realise this is very serious indeed: a wine of complexity, power and balance that will take a bit of time to integrate. When it does, it will be magical.
2017 Scharzhofberg Spätlese [13 18] (HOVE22217A)
Tighter and deeper than the Kabinett, this is closed now, and will need time for the fruit to unfold, but there a steely backbone of spicy minerality and a long salty lemon-tinged finish that promise a great future.
2016 Scharzhofberg Spätlese [10 17] (HOVE22216A)
Very herbal and mineral-driven, this offers well balanced, sweet citrus fruit, freshness, and an enlivening dry, saline finish. An excellent Spätlese
2015 Scharzhofberg Spätlese [06 16] (HOVE22215A)
An intensely mineral wine, so much so that it tasted drier than the Kabinett, though this may change as it opens up. Some ripe fruit and ripe acidity balance the long salty finish. Drink 2017 - 2032
2014 Scharzhofberg Spätlese [09 15] (HOVE22214A)
The elegance is immediately apparent from the first sip. It glides effortlessly across the palate, leaving intense lemon, grapefruit and salty mineral flavours behind. Very moreish indeed.

2017 Hütte GG [15 18] (HOVE76217A)
There is a very appealing lean raciness to the juicy ripe floral and peach fruit, the minerality is fine, and the finish is long and pure.
