2017 Pinot Noir Herrenstück [14 18] (KOCH40217A)
There is fresh strawberry and plum fruit tinged with spice on the nose; the palate is smooth, energetic and fine, the gentle balancing tannins leading to a juicy finish.
2016 Pinot Noir Herrenstück [13 17] (KOCH40216A)
There is fresh cherry fruit with a hint of cassis on the nose; on the palate it is smooth and fresh, with lots of energy, lightness and intensity.
2017 Pinot Noir* [18 18] (KOCH44217A)
Crushed red fruit and loads of spice - cloves come to mind - leap out of the glass; in the mouth there is delicacy but also great depth, freshness and an intense finely balanced finish.
2016 Pinot Noir* [15 17] (KOCH44216A)
Bright and spicy, with fresh crushed red fruit and vibrant mineral flavours.
2015 Pinot Noir* [14 16] (KOCH44215A)
Rich and spicy, with cherry and raspberry fruit, this has good energy, an appealing density and a smooth long finish. Drink 2018 – 2028
2017 Pinot Noir*** [17 18] (KOCH46217A)
From the estate's best site, the Halbuck, a terraced vineyard with poor loess soils on volcanic rock: grapes ripen more slowly here than in other vineyards on the estate. There is a knot of cool crushed raspberry fruit and spiced plums joined by silky tannins, and a gentle persistent mineral heat on the long fresh juicy finish.
2016 Pinot Noir*** [16 17] (KOCH46216A)
From the estate's best site, the Halbuck, a terraced vineyard with poor loess soils on volcanic rock: grapes ripen more slowly here than in other vineyards on the estate. Cool, crushed raspberry fruit on the nose is joined on the palate by fresh cherry and fine clean juicy minerality; the finish is long, intense and meltingly smooth.
2017 Pinot Noir Reserve [LOS 0419] (KOCH50217A)
The top selection from the Halbuck vineyard. There is more whole-bunch fermentation and more new wood than in Holger Koch’s other wines, and this is built to last. It has all the requirements: bags of fruit, vibrant acidity and smooth minerality all in perfect balance, leading to a very long finish. Drink 2023 – 2035
2018 Weissburgunder Scheibenhardt [08 19] (KOCH22218A)
A lively, complex wine with a mix of cool green fruit and a hint of tropical flavours (courtesy of the heat), bright citrus acidity and a hint of tannin on a taut mineral-driven finish.
2017 Weissburgunder Scheibenhardt [07 18] (KOCH22217A)
2016 Weissburgunder Scheibenhardt [09 17] (KOCH22216A)
2018 Weissburgunder*** (KOCH24218A)
2017 Weissburgunder*** [10 18] (KOCH24217A)
The warm stony soil of the Eichbuck gives a ripe, pure wine with a playful mineral note, delicate acidity and a gentle elegant presence all the way to the long fresh finish.
2018 Grauburgunder Eichbuck [10 19] (KOCH30218A)
Pinot Gris is an early ripening variety that can easily turn out blousy wines after a hot summer. It is a tribute to the winemaker’s skill that he has produced a brisk wine with cool green fruit, just a hint of richness from the heat and an energetic finish.
2017 Grauburgunder Eichbuck [05 18] (KOCH30217A)
