Helmut Dönnhoff describes this as his Amoureuses, and you can see what he means: there is finesse to the lively yellow fruit, a lovely clear minerality, some spice and a vibrant energy that lifts the wine to delicate, ethereal heights. Quite lovely. Drink 2019 ' 2032

2016 OBERHÄUSER LEISTENBERG Kabinett [03 17] (DONN12216A)
Facing south-east, Leistenberg is a naturally cooler vineyard benefiting from the morning sun. Sweet ripe fruit is balanced by brisk acidity, and powerful slaty notes make the finish dry.

Harmonious and polished, with soft peachy fruit backed by lemon and mineral zing.

2011 SCHLOSSBÖCKELHEIMER FELSENBERG 'TÜRMCHEN' Spätlese (DONN20211A)
Great depth and intensity, with broad smooth mineral flavours and a hint of smoke. Fine finish.
2017 OBERHÄUSER BRÜCKE Spätlese [15 18] (DONN25217A)
A reassuringly similar tasting note to last year's, proof that this wine is an accurate reflection of the place in which the grapes were grown. It is fine, seamless and poised, with dense cool golden-yellow fruit, ripe lemony acidity and a long powerful salty mineral finish.
2017 NIEDERHÄUSER HERMANNS- HÖHLE Spätlese [16 18] (DONN26217A)
Aristocratic, smooth and elegant: a seamless wine that has vibrant ripe acidity, a fine mineral weave and bursts with citrus and peach flavours. It is powerful and rich, with no trace of fat, and finishes very long.
2016 NIEDERHÄUSER HERMANNS- HÖHLE Spätlese (DONN26216A)
To make dry wine, you need healthy grapes. So before the main harvest, the pickers pass through the vineyard removing very ripe and botrytized grapes, which are used for sweet wines like this one. It is creamy, rich and rounded, backed by vibrant citrus acidity and a vanishingly fine minerality. Spectacular as ever.
2013 NIEDERHÄUSER HERMANNSHÖHLE Spätlese [08 14] (DONN26213A)
Powerful and intense, with a burst of ripe golden berry fruit complemented by a superb mineral elegance. Effortless and long. Quite outstandingly good.
2013 NORHEIMER DELLCHEN Auslese GK [22 14] (DONN35213B)
Healthy grapes from the Dellchen were destined for the GG; any affected by botrytis went into this luscious Auslese. Seamless elegance, with ripe lemon flavours and a market garden of yellow fruit.
2017 NIEDERHÄUSER HERMANNS- HÖHLE Auslese GK [18 18] (DONN36217A)
A little more botrytis than in the Br'cke, but there is no sacrifice of elegance. Indeed, it has the typical finesse of the vineyard plus enormous depth and a hint of salty minerals on the long finish. Staggeringly nice.
2016 NIEDERHÄUSER HERMANNS- HÖHLE Auslese GK (DONN36216A)
A light clean botrytis lends a luscious creamy note to the pure yellow fruit. This is grapey and powerful, balanced by lively citrus notes and a hint of minerality under the dense fruit layer.

A light dusting of botrytis gives a luscious edge to this clear, refined wine, dominated at this stage by golden yellow fruit, bright citrus acidity and a pure, delicious finish.
2011 OBERHÄUSER BRÜCKE Auslese GK (DONN37211B)
