2018 Georg Mosbacher trocken [01 19] (MOSB06218A)
Perfumed yellow fruit leads to a rich, rounded middle with some weight, given definition by a ripe citrus acidity. A lot of wine for the money.
2016 Georg Mosbacher Trocken [13 17] (MOSB06216A)
Very aromatic floral notes in a ripe balanced wine that has plenty of energy. An excellent Gutswein.
2015 Georg Mosbacher Trocken [03 16] (MOSB06215A)
Delicate yellow fruit, elegance and finesse, plus a pithy rounded finish indicate a wine punching well above its weight. Drink 2017 - 2020
2018 Deidesheimer Leinhöhle trocken [21 19] (MOSB11218A)
A south-facing slope with multi-coloured sandstone soil gives a sweet core of elegant yellow fruit and a nicely judged fresh mineral finish.
2017 Deidesheimer Leinhöhle Trocken [26 18] (MOSB11217A)
A south-facing slope with multicoloured sandstone soil gives a very ripe wine redolent of fresh apricots and tropical fruit, along with pithy minerals and very fine acidity.
2012 Deidesheimer Leinhöhle Trocken (MOSB11212A)
Elegant ripe yellow peach and grapefruit backed by a gentle and persistent minerality. Delicate and elegant, and a long seductive finish. Super stuff!
2018 Forster Musenhang trocken [23 19] (MOSB12218A)
A cool, east-facing site just under the tree line adds a cool stony note to yellow peach and mirabelle fruit; there is a gentle but persistent streak of acidity and a very smooth, dense salty finish.
2017 Forster Musenhang Trocken [23 18] (MOSB12217A)
A cool, eastern facing site just under the treeline gives a strong bass note of fine stony flavours buffered by bright citrus fruit, and there is a long, chalky finish.
2012 Forster Musenhang Trocken (MOSB12212A)
Very ripe, fine and elegant, with a more weight than the Leinhöhle. Rich citrus-infused finish.
2014 Deidesheimer Mäushöhle Trocken [21 15] (MOSB14214A)
There is focussed yellow fruit here, along with rich mineral and spice flavours, some vibrant lemony acidity, and a rounded long finish.
2013 Wachenheimer Gerümpel Trocken [19 14] (MOSB15213A)
Spicy licorice and smoky flavours mingle with rounded ripe fruit. Very harmonious and seamlessly elegant, this has a brisk juicy finish. Quite delicious.
2011 Bundsandstein (MOSB18211A)
From the Wachenheimer Gerümpel. Very floral, round, rich and ripe, held in balance by brisk acidity. Delicious.
2016 Basalt [32 17] (MOSB19216A)
Harvested from various sites in GG vineyards where the soil is primarily volcanic basalt. This is broad and rich, with racy yellow fruit and lovely finesse and purity.
2018 Freundstück GG [42 19] (MOSB24218A)
Ungeheuer means monster, and the wines from this vineyard are often monumental. But the power is easily handled by the vibrant yellow fruit and beautifully fine citrus acidity, joined by a little oak and a big hit of tightly wound salty minerality on the long finish. There is a lovely energy here, a flowing ripeness and purity that makes it particularly appealing.
2017 Freundstück GG (MOSB24217A)
Ungeheuer means monster, and the wines from this vineyard are often monumental. The version from here is certainly powerful, but also perfumed and fine, with a core of juicy fruit and a meltingly long mineral-driven finish.
2018 Ungeheuer GG [44 19] (MOSB25218A)
Very old vines give a smooth vibrant wine with rounded grapefruit and ripe pear fruit, lots of zingy freshness and a very stony finish.
2017 Ungeheuer GG [44 18] (MOSB25217A)
A pure rich and ripe wine, showing rounded spicy citrus fruit and powerful mineral flavours, plus a long fresh finish.
2018 Jesuitengarten GG [45 19] (MOSB27218A)
A very elegant, juicy rich wine, with bags of yellow fruit, pointed citrus acidity and a very fine mineral vein. There is a good deal of oak here, which will take time to be digested, but there is more than enough wine to do the job.
2017 Jesuitengarten GG [45 18] (MOSB27217A)
Let's not beat about the bush: this was one of the finest, silkiest wines we tried this year. It is intensely perfumed, with yellow fruit and juicy acidity, and underpinned by a beautifully fine mineral seam and a long powerful finish. Will run and run.
2016 Jesuitengarten GG [44 17] (MOSB27216A)
A powerful wine with lots of aromatic fruit, pure mineral flavours and amazing finesse. Drink 2018 ? 2038
