A gently aromatic wine with fresh cool green notes, pears and honeydew melon, a hint of creaminess and a lovely zingy finish. It is very approachable young, and will continue to develop for the next five years.

There are ripe melon and pear notes in this smooth, pleasant and fruity wine, given definition by a firm rich middle and a long fine finish with a hint of salty minerality.

Cool grassy fruit with a hint of yellow plums is offset by vibrant lemony acidity, grounded by an appealing earthy stoniness on the finish.
2017 Riesling [04 18] (DENG12217A)
A first hit of ripe yellow fruit is followed by greener flavours courtesy of some whole-bunch pressing; the acidity is brisk and integrated and there is a lovely fresh finish. A textbook example of Pfalz Riesling.

You have to taste it to believe how lovely this is. This is no blousy, alcohol-laden musk bomb, but a delightfully fresh, juicy and highly aromatic wine weighing in at 11.5%, showing lychee and citrus fruit and a vibrant stony finish.

From fifty-year-old vines in limestone-gravel soil. There is always a breeze here, particularly welcome in a hot summer, not only for the vineyard workers but also to keep the wine fresh! This has cool, aromatics, with a green note underpinning the yellow fruit, and there a is lively citrus zing lasting to the delicately salty finish.

From fifty-year-old vines in limestone-gravel soil. This is juicy and pithy, with grapefruit, tropical and vibrant lemony notes, a chalky mineral backbone and a long fresh finish.

From fifty-year-old vines in limestone-gravel soil. It is warm, rich and ripe, with clear, sweet yellow fruit and excellent density and elegance; it finishes on a pure mineral note. Very appealing. Drink 2017 - 2024

From heavier soils with more clay in the limestone-gravel mix. This is a powerful wine, with intense pithy grapefruit and ripe pear and apple fruit framed by delicate floral notes, finishing smoothly on a long rich bitter stony note.

From heavier soils with more clay in the limestone-gravel mix. This is a taut, pure and very fine wine, with dense fruit that will take time to emerge, juicy lemony acidity and a long smooth finish with a salty edge.
2016 Am Heiligen Berg [18 17] (DENG34216A)
From heavier soils with more clay in the limestone-gravel mix. This is opulent, smooth and powerful, but a considerable whack of acidity keeps it beautifully balanced. The finish is elegant and long, with a hint of mineral depth, which will become more apparent with age. Drink 2017 - 2024
