2015 Maranges 1er Cru Le Croix Moines (CAMI22215A)
The last 1er cru of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyard has white marl soils. This year it is structured, with perfumed red fruit, good intensity and a sweet long mineral-driven finish.
2013 Maranges 1er Cru Le Croix Moines (CAMI22213A)
Super-smooth and fine, this is a positive market garden of red berries, balanced by well integrated supple tannins and a sweet ripe finish. Very good indeed.
2012 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valozières (CAMI26212A)
From a vineyard just below Corton-Bressandes. Everything an Aloxe should be: concentrated delicious vibrant fruit, a hint of spices, some gaminess, and importantly, smooth fine tannins. Gourmand.
2011 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valozières (CAMI26211A)
A new wine, from a vineyard just below Corton-Bressandes. Dark, bramble fruit with distinct pepper, chocolate and gamy elements. Rounded and deep, driven to a long finish by a vibrant minerality.
2013 Beaune 1er Cru (CAMI29213A)
Beaune was hard hit by hail in 2013, particularly Cras, which managed a yield of only 3.5 hl/ha. It was thus blended with Avaux to make a very rich, concentrated wine with dark fruit, good tannin levels and superb length. It will last very well, and needs ten years in the cellar before approaching.
2017 Vosne-Romanee 'Les Chalandins' (CAMI30217A)
Les Chalandins is neatly situated below Echézeaux , close to the wall of Clos Vougeot. The vines range in age from 25 to 70, and are prone to millerandage, adding an extra dimension of sweet richness to the fruit. As usual, half of the wine is fermented in whole bunches, giving lifted, spicy, violet-scented red fruit, with vibrancy, power and length.
2016 Vosne-Romanée 'Les Chalandins' (CAMI30216A)
Les Chalandins is neatly situated below Echézeaux , close to the wall of Clos Vougeot. 50% whole-bunch fermentation gives an intense, violet-scented, charming wine that is complex, transparent and round, with fine tannins and a long, powerful finish. One of the most seductive village wines tasted this year.
2015 Vosne-Romanée 'Les Chalandins' (CAMI30215A)
Les Chalandins is neatly situated below Echézeaux , close to the wall of Clos Vougeot. Fresh, ripe and perfumed, showing a typical nose of violets and blueberries. The palate is silky, intense and powerful, shading to blacker fruit as the fine minerality appears towards the long finish. Quite lovely.
2014 Vosne-Romanée 'Les Chalandins' (CAMI30214A)
Les Chalandins is neatly situated below Echézeaux , close to the wall of Clos Vougeot. It has produced a typically spicy, plummy, and powerful wine with good depth of fruit and energy. 40% whole-bunch fermentation has given refinement and texture. Quite lovely.
2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon (CAMI31217A)
Spicy sour cherry fruit and bright crunchy acidity are backed by melting rich tannins with a hint of chocolate; the finish is long and fine.
2016 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon (CAMI31216A)
A vibrant, juicy, spicy wine completely at ease with itself. The ripe fruit is perfectly pitched against a background of fine juicy tannins, and the finish is concentrated and long.
2014 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon (CAMI31214A)
Just two barrels produced. This is very fine, with deep, perfumed dark fruit, well defined elegant tannins and masses of energy.
2017 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Aux Echanges (CAMI32217A)
A dense wine, with sweet, seductive red cherry fruit supported by silky tannins and a finely structured minerality; the finish is intense and bright.
2016 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Echanges (CAMI32216A)
The silky charm of Chambolle, yes, but this year in a more concentrated form than usual. There is dense, delicate fruit, a vibrant salty minerality peeking through behind it and a fine sweet juicy finish.
2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Echanges (CAMI32215A)
A small vineyard between Beaux-Bruns and Combottes, with deep clay soil. This is beautifully defined, with the sweet red fruit typical of Chambolle, joined this year by a hint of licorice, with fine silky tannins and a long mineral-rich finish.
2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Echanges (CAMI32214A)
Only one barrel made. A small vineyard between Beaux-Bruns and Combottes, with deep clay soil. It has the pretty red fruit typical of Chambolle, but there is firmness here too, and the tannins and minerality give structure. The finish is juicy and persistent.
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut-Saint-Jacques (CAMI36217A)
100% whole clusters give perfumed bright black cherry fruit. The wine has an airy, ethereal feel, enhanced by the very fine tannic structure and a refreshing saline finish.
2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut-Saint-Jacques (CAMI36214A)
Floral, delicate and finely woven, the ethereal character often seen from this vineyard is highlighted by the use of 50% whole bunches. There is energy and power here too, along with fine minerality and a strong tannic structure that promises a long life.
2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut-Saint-Jacques (CAMI36213A)
Bright and effortless, with intense sweet black cherry fruit and the energy typical of a vineyard high on the hillside. A touch of menthol on the very long fine finish.
