2013 Beaune 1er Cru (CAMI29213A)
Beaune was hard hit by hail in 2013, particularly Cras, which managed a yield of only 3.5 hl/ha. It was thus blended with Avaux to make a very rich, concentrated wine with dark fruit, good tannin levels and superb length. It will last very well, and needs ten years in the cellar before approaching.

The vines range in age from 25 to 70, and are prone to millerandage, adding an extra dimension of sweet richness to the fruit. As usual, half of the wine is fermented in whole bunches, giving lifted, spicy, violet-scented red fruit, with vibrancy, power and length.
