Domaine Robert Groffier en primeur
Back to producer list Grower profile Another fine year from the eloquent Nicolas Groffier. He places the vintage close to 2005: to his mind the drought brought richness but also a touch of austerity. What is certain is that yields are much reduced due to the small amount of juice in the grapes. As ever, he believes the key to freshness is a late malolactic fermentation, so he chilled the wines down in order to delay it.Page 1 (Records 1 - 3 of 3)

2017 PASSETOUTGRAIN (GRFF04217A)
Along with Lafarge, the domaine makes the best Passetoutgrain we know. It has 25% Gamay, and the fruit is fresh, ripe and brambly, driving through to a long fine finish. For Nicolas, it is the equivalent of having a beer - delicious, uncomplicated and refreshing.

2017 BOURGOGNE ROUGE (GRFF06217A)
From two parcels, one under the Clos Vougeot, the other on the Gevrey side of Morey. The fruit is spicy, black and sweet, and there is lovely density and roundness, along with definition and energy.
