2016 GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN Racine du Temps Très Vieilles Vignes (BOUV28216A)
Ninety-year-old vines give enormous intensity and length. This is dense and ripe, with powerful black fruit, a very fine tannic structure and a delicate mineral backbone. It finishes on a juicy soft black fruit note.
2015 GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN Racine du Temps Très Vieilles Vignes (BOUV28215A)
vines of this age can make a wine leaden, especially in a ripe year such as this, but not so here: it is very dense and ripe, but there is a freshness, a lightness and an extraordinary elegance from the very fine tannins which makes it almost ethereal. A very good village indeed.
