2017 COTE DE NUITS VILLAGES Clos du Chapeau (ARLO06217A)
The fruit is fresh, easy-drinking and seductive, and the finish is rounded, ripe and generous. Lovely.
2016 COTE DE NUITS VILLAGES Clos du Chapeau (ARLO06216A)
Perfectly fresh vibrant red fruit with notes of spice in a round, long package.
2014 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES Le Petit Arlot, Jeunes Vignes (ARLO18214A)
100% destemmed. A core of dark fruit in this densely woven wine is balanced by fine tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2018 ' 2022
2013 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES Le Petit Arlot, Jeunes Vignes (ARLO18213A)
These young vines from the Clos de l'Arlot are now fifteen years old. Planted in a sunny spot, they give very dense ripe red fruit, and the character of the vintage lends freshness and purity.
2017 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-de-l'Arlot (ARLO21217A)
A dense, rich wine with raspberry fruit and some spice, ripe tannins, discreet mineral flavours and a defining vibrant acidity that drives through to a long fresh finish.
2015 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-de-l'Arlot (ARLO21215A)
55% whole-bunch fermentation this year has produced a juicy, lifted wine with dense rich floral and raspberry fruit, very supple tannins and lots of energy on the finish.
2013 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-de-l'Arlot (ARLO21213A)
Manages to combine ripe pretty red fruit and great intensity. The wine is full of energy, fresh and pure, with great length. Very exciting.
2011 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-de-l'Arlot (ARLO21211B)
Very low yields of less than 20 hl/ha give a wine that is concentrated and bursting with energy. Beautifully defined spicy, rounded and warm red fruits, floral flavours and fine tannins drive to a vibrant finish.
2017 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22217A)
A more concentrated, darker wine than the Clos de l'Arlot, with densely woven red and black fruit, very fine suave tannins and a beautifully fresh pointed long mineral-driven finish.
2016 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22216A)
Very black and very smooth, quite muscular, but effortlessly so, and while this is a structured wine ' we are in Southern Nuits, after all ' the tannins are juicy and fine, and the finish long, fresh and fruity.
2015 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22215A)
55% whole-bunch, and much more structure and density than the Clos de l'Arlot. It is ripe and supple, with attractive sour cherry fruit and a streak of mineral, but the tannins are much in evidence and it will need time in the cellar.
2014 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22214B)
50% whole-bunch. Packed with sweet dark fruit, this is densely woven, elegant and balanced. There is energy and finesse, and a very long pure juicy finish. Drink 2022 ' 2034
2013 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22213A)
Both charming and serious at once, it has dark, rich fruit of great depth and intensity, loads of energy and vibrant, finely-wrought tannins. Very, very long and pure.
2012 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22212A)
After a superlative 2011, 2012 is another winner. Elegant, multi-layered and intense, showing ripe, almost melting tannins (and this is Nuits!), lovely dark-black fruit, and fresh acidity. Long complex finish.
2011 NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 1er cru, Clos-des-Forêts-St.-Georges (ARLO22211A)
2011 has produced an absolute cracker. Dark hedgerow fruit with strong sour cherry notes and hint of smoke burst onto the palate, and great depth and intensity are immediately evident. Rich tannins give a serious note, but it is full of the joys of life, with an irrepressible energy and enormous appeal. Forêts is a sadly underestimated vineyard; this is the sort of wine that deserves to turn its fortunes around.
