80% whole bunch fermentation. Rounded perfumed nose leads to intense fruit on the palate, complemented by notes of chocolate and spice. Pure and full of energy, which lifts the normally rich and sometimes ponderous Fremiers towards the ethereal.
2013 POMMARD 1er cru, Rugiens (BOUL52213A)
From vines at the top of the slope, growing on very shallow soil ' just 10cm before the roots hit rock. Very fine, dark ripe fruit with strong spicy notes. Richness, concentration and elegance all combine effortlessly here.
2012 POMMARD 1er cru, ‘Léonie’ (BOUL52212A)
'I have always wondered what the rich red soils of Fremiets and the thin rocky ones from my parcel of Rugiens would be like together', said Thomas during our tasting, 'and in this vintage there were so few grapes in each vineyard that we vinified them together. I am delighted with the result, so much so that I have named it after my daughter who was born this year.' Rich, intense and elegant, with lashings of fresh black fruit and lots of minerality on the finish. Not to be missed.
2011 POMMARD 1er cru, Rugiens (BOUL52211A)
Very thin soil in the high part of the vineyard allows a smoky note from the rock to permeate the wine, joined by massive dark fruitcake elements, but defined at present by a delicious salty minerality which keeps it vibrant and pure. A fantastic Rugiens.

Clearly the best vineyard in Marsannay, with sandy soils. Bouvier's vines are sixty years old, and a give a beautifully fine and ethereal wine with energy and intensity. Black fruit is balanced by present mineral flavours, and the persistent finish promises a long life. Drink 2018 ' 2024
2014 GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN La Justice (BOUV24214A)
Pebble-rich limestone soils give a wine that will, according to Bernard Bouvier, always be accessible, whether young or old. It is smooth and rich, with vibrant black fruit of some depth, good finesse and a long saline finish. Drink 2017 ' 2025
2014 GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN Racine du Temps Tr?s Vieilles Vignes (BOUV28214A)
Ninety-year-old vines give enormous intensity and length. Often vines of this age can make a wine leaden, but not here: there is great energy and excellent definition to the black spicy fruit. There is also considerable power and finesse, and it finishes on a fresh, persistent note. Drink 2020 ' 2030

Sweet ripe fruit and spice mingle in this fine, complex wine that is both long and moreish. Drink 2025 ' 2035

70-year-old vines give ripe black fruit and chocolate flavours of great intensity and elegance, and a fine mineral flourish on a very persistent finish.

Once again this contains some 1er cru La Comme. Bright, and fresh, with lovely fruit concentration and a pure mineral edge.

Some 1er cru was declassified into this, adding class to the vibrant, intense sour-cherry fruit.
