New Zealand
New Zealand’s winemakers have been quick to establish a reputation for their Pinot noirs, particularly those from the older Martinborough region where Burnt Spur hails from.
Recent press for Burnt Spur:
'An absorbing, slightly animally nose with cherry, damson and loganberry, developing a savoury scent with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, silky ripe tannins, crisp red-berried fruit. Just a lovely texture with great tension and poise. Good length. Feminine and absolutely beguiling.
Outstanding. Drink now-2014.'
94/100 - Neal Martin of the Wine Advocate
"Attractive wine with dense plum, dark cherry and spicy oak flavours together with a suggestion of liquorice and anise. The wine has impressive complexity much of which will emerge over the next few years. It has a great texture and good length."
92/100 - Bob Campbell MW

Switzerland
Swiss Pinot noirs are highly regarded but are in such demand in Switzerland that they are almost impossible to find elsewhere. After several visits, and a little gentle arm twisting, we were able to secure both the Gantenbein and Wegelin wines.
